Description:
Thiourea, White bright bitter crystal, soluble in cold water and ethanol, slightly soluble in ether, easily deliquescent in air, converted to ammonium thiocyanate at 150 ℃, with reducing properties, can reduce free iodine to iodine ions. Thiourea is highly reactive and is used to prepare various compounds. It can react with various oxidants to generate organic compounds, and can also form easily soluble addition compounds with inorganic compounds.
Applications:
(1)Used for manufacturing sulfonamide drugs, dyes, resins, compression molding powders, etc., also used as vulcanization accelerators for rubber, flotation agents for metal minerals, etc;
(2)Used as analytical reagents, complexation indicators, and chromatographic analysis reagents;
(3)Used as an intermediate in the production of drugs in medicine. Used as a vulcanization accelerator in the rubber industry. Used as a flotation agent in the mining industry. It is also used as a fabric and paper processing agent, as well as a printing and dyeing assistant;
(4)Thiourea is an intermediate of fungicides, herbicides such as glyphosate and terbutamol. It is also a raw material for medical thiazole and can be used as a raw material for dyes, resins, and compression molding powders. It can also be used as a vulcanization promoter for rubber and a flotation agent for metal minerals;
(5)This product is used as a raw material for synthesizing drugs such as sulfathiazole, methionine, and pig fat tablets. Used as a raw material for dyes, dyeing aids, resins, and compression molding powders. It can also be used as a vulcanization promoter for rubber, a flotation agent for metal minerals, a catalyst for producing phthalic anhydride and fumaric acid, and as a metal rust inhibitor. In terms of photographic materials, it can be used as a developer and toner. It can also be used in the electroplating industry. Thiourea is also used in many aspects such as diazotized photosensitive paper, synthetic resin coatings, anion exchange resins, germination promoters, fungicides, etc. Thiourea is also used as a fertilizer;
(6)Strong denaturant, increases protein solubility and recovery rate;
(7)Reducing agent. A precipitant for lead, thallium, and cadmium. Verification and determination of bismuth, bismuth, ruthenium, selenium, lead, tellurium, palladium, and selenite. Organic synthesis, preparing thiols from haloalkanes.
